Whitstable Oyster Festival

Really thrilled that my Weird Whitstable prints are being used by the Whitstable Oyster Festival this year! Including a new image that features the wonderful and magical little Grotter Fairies who can sometimes be seen flitting about the beach areas on summer evenings. They can be a bit shy, but they love the Grotters!

Croucher in plain sight

While waiting in the car outside the Co-op my eye was caught by some movement in the shrubbery across the road. I couldn't quite make out what it was so I quickly took a photo with my phone camera. Luckily I captured this image because when I looked again, whatever it was, was gone.

Later that night I enhanced the image to make it clearer. Combining the information in the photo with my memory of the sighting.
It appears to show a strange dark green crouching creature with antlers. Its unclear what it was doing.

I questioned a passerby: "Best forget it. Once you start to see them, they appear to be everywhere in town where there are trees and bushes. Staring out with their eyes. Moving about. Doing things." The person hurried away before I could find out more.

Have you seen any strange creatures like this around town? If so comment below stating where and when. If you happen to spot one, don't approach it. Don't feed it or attempt to communicate with it. Be safe. We don't know what they are yet.

Christmas UFO over Whitstable!

These photos have just arrived at the Weird Whitstable offices.
Something was photographed flying south over Whitstable just after midnight on Christmas Eve. Could it be what I think it is?

Metal Carrot found on beach!

Here at the Weird Whitstable offices we won't be leaving Santa's reindeer this strange find tonight: it's a metal carrot!
Discovered recently on the beach while looking at shells.
Where did it grow? Who grew it? Can we cook it? We may never know the answer.

Merry Christmas from everyone here at the Weird Whitstable offices x

Smoke columns!

Last week two columns of smoke were seen rising from the mysterious Isle of Sheppey. Does this have anything to do with the 3 o'clock rumble that can sometimes be heard booming through the sky?

Mysterious Pirate Father Christmas locket found on beach!

During the summer Whitstable resident Ms _____ and her daughter _____ were combing the pebbles for fossils near The Street:

"It was such a hot day, and I'd just found a small coral impression in a pebble. I looked back down and there it was in the sand. An old necklace, shining in the sun. I cleaned the surface and the misty image of Father Christmas appeared, looking right at me. He looks a bit piratey but I'm sure its him"

Is this a true-believing sailor's lucky Christmas charm, lost in a shipwreck many years ago, and washed up on the shore? Or something less exciting?

The jury is out on this one, but Ms _____ concluded by saying "I'd swear that when I noticed it there was a brief flurry of snow over us."

Ho ho ho Arrrrr! Shiver me tinsel!

The Ghost of Diamond Road *UPDATE*

The ghost of Diamond Road has been witnessed again! A grim spectre in a hooded cloak can be seen pointing menacingly at a postman. What does this mean? Has the postman been singled out? or does he have a parcel that won't fit through the new flat's letterbox?
As ever, please let me know your thoughts on this. But remember, try to sleep easy, theres bound to be an explanation.
